Personification- Water Essay

Water

I am what falls down when it rains. I am also what helps keep you alive. Without me the planet would be nothing, there would be no food, no plants. The earth is made up mostly of me. Humans are also made up of me. People need to constantly drink me so they won't dehydrate. I help people get the right amount of me when they drink me. I help plants grow. I am the environment in which fishes and other sea creatures live. I can flood a country when a hurricane comes. There is a lot of mythology behind my name. Different places believe in different things about me. There are different mythological reasons on how I came to be and also different reasoning why the earth is mainly me.
If I get warm and the wind is strong enough I can become a very disastrous hurricane that can end many things. In Greece they say if Poseidon gets upset tidal waves and tsunamis happen. They associate me with Poseidon in Greece because they say he is my king. I have no true king because there are a lot of myths of my being. In Rome my kings’ name would be Neptune. I am known as different things with different rulers but in reality I have not shown who is right but would rather leave people wondering.

1500 Word Essay

The articles related to Don't Blame the Eater are sort of true. There in the middle because they target kids and the parents buy them what they want. If parents were to too be more careful on what they buy or how constantly they buy their kids fast food or toys related to fast food because maybe obesity wouldn't be such a problem amongst young kids. If parents were to decide that their kids are suppose to be real healthy and then they wouldn't be obsessed.
Big corporations target kids because parents allow them too and they also encourage them too. For example if parents were to say no more toys that make you think fast food, maybe then corporations would probably not target kids anymore. Big corporations wouldn't target kids and be wealthy if parents were to go to markets and buy vegetables and fruits to make their kids healthy. They also wouldn't aim for kids if parents would decide to give them fast food as a treat or reward instead of an option every once a month or maybe even too.
In the past years obesity has seemed to grow immensely between kids and teens because it seems as if parents don't seem to care of what their kids eat or put in their body. It also seems that they don’t seem to care that they eat more junk food than vegetables or anything home made that is good for the kids. In case where a mother was suing McDonalds she said “I feed my son McDonalds because I thought it was healthy for him.” What kind of an excuse is that?! It doesn’t make sense I you feed your child fast food daily you don’t truly love your kid and you’re neglecting that child from a nutritionist life.
A parent has the right to say no to their kid because they are the parents and because if they don’t stop their child their child is going to walk all over them without thinking about it. It doesn’t only apply to food to life as well because an unhealthy kid doesn’t have the same advantage as very healthy kid. An unhealthy kid isn’t going to be able to run or walk without breathing hard or isn’t going to be able to play without getting tired quickly. It’s not fair for a kid to go through all that because they are just kids and they get made fun of everyday just because they aren’t as healthy as other kids.
Most people don’t understand what being obese is. They see it as they are only fat and they don’t care about how they look.
Many parents don’t understand that if they love their kid they would want their kid to be healthy because they are showing how much they care about them. It’s real interesting to tell a parent that they don’t love their kids because they neglect them with giving them unhealthy food and by letting them eat fast food they are harming. There’s a quote that stands out to me from Don’t Blame the Eater “Shouldn’t we know better than to eat two meals a day in fast food restaurants?” If people were to analyze how long they spend or how much they spend on fast food restaurants they would be surprised. It’s crazy because it seems people are hypnotized by fast food that they don’t seem to notice how much time and money they spend on fast food restaurants.
I’m not a healthy person but I’m not obese either. My parents tell me and try not to buy fast food and it has been working because I’m getting use to not eating fast food that often. I mean it’s a great feeling because my family and I are overcoming obesity. We do eat it once in a while but it’s rare when we do. My parents are trying to become more informed about what foods are healthy and which are not. They don’t want my sister, brother and me to become obese or have any type of obese related sickness.

Reading Autobiography

Well i was never read to when i was a little kid. I would always wonder what that was like. I had a hard time reading in my elementary classes. At home no one would be able to help me read or do anything not because they wouldn't to or couldn't read but because they couldn't since they only spoke Spanish and still do. I had a real long way to go i didn't like reading when i was little because i would struggle with all the words. I also had some trouble speaking English. My teachers knew why i had trouble but didn't want me to go to an ESL class because they knew it was to low for me.
In middle school i didn't touch a book because i hated them. I didn't like reading at all because i would still mess some words up and have trouble with reading. My parents wanted me to read more often but i didn't read at all. I guess since i wasn't helped at home with reading i couldn't think of reading been something i would do for fun or anything related to that.
Any kid at that age wouldn't want to read if their parents didn't read for them when they were little. I got so use to the idea that books weren't my thing that i felt awkward when i started reading in high school. I started reading because i became a loner in my first high school. I mean i would hang out with some kids but it would be in the library and since Miguel Contreras library is big we got to read a lot of books.
My first favorite writer would be Stephenie Meyer. I loved her book Twilight i was obsessed with it. Once i finished reading that one i was ready to start reading the next book which would be New Moon. After reading New Moon i was really looking forward to reading Eclipse. I was sad and excited about getting to the last book and been ready to watch the movies. That was all i could think about most of the time and no that I've watched all three movies and want to watch the last movie which their doing into two parts i can't wait for them to come out and i also want to re-read the books for one more last time.

The Crucible

The Crucible is a play that shows us how easily people get influenced or fooled into believing what others want us to believe. For example in the play Abigail Williams is a young woman that wants something she can’t have. What I mean is she wants a married man. Since she knows John Proctor doesn’t want her she plots evil things for the village.
The village was as innocent as possible since they know that churches court will hang them for any “sins” they had committed. It’s interesting enough that it had to come to witchcraft so the town’s people had to realize that they were all “sinners”. They knew they were all sinners but yet didn’t do much about it. It was as if they were still all in denial and the church still tried to have authority but yet ignored all the “sins” amongst the people unless they were made public.
For me it was interesting to read it because it taught me about the past and about McCarthyism. I learned that McCarthyism is kind of like the Crucible because people got blamed for been communist and got arrested for it. The same thing happened in the Crucible but only they where been accused of been witches. They all lie to get what they want.
The Crucible is mostly about a couple of girls that are really upset that they lie about witchcraft. Their leader Abigail Williams she tells them what to feel or what to do. The reason Abigail lies is to get the man she wants. She is a dirty, sneaky liar. She makes people think that there are witches in Salem. Since Salem is a puritan town they take the bible very seriously. It was a very ongoing situation. The girls that started everything decided to leave and stop accusing people after Abigail ran away with her uncle’s money.
The lies they told were unbelievable. The judges were harsh on the accused. They gave the accused two options to confess and be isolated or to die hanged. Since they knew lying was a sin and God wouldn’t forgive them for it they opted out with getting hanged. They tried to make all of them confess that but none of them would because they were all innocent. Like with McCarthyism they were accused of been something they weren’t that’s why this play went perfect around that time. It’s incredible that people are very gullible especially when it comes to making false accusations or coming up with evidence.
In the crucible they had one justification onto why they didn’t actually confess and that was because of their religious beliefs. Most of the accused said that Abigail was lying but the court didn’t believe them. So they had no other choice but to take what came to them. This play was basically to describe what happened in McCarthyism. When people truly believe in what they feel strong about what they believe in might come back and make them regret believing in it or feeling that they shouldn’t have believed in it that strong. It’s a very complex play and it describes what happened in real life with McCarthyism.

Social Network

The Internet can it be trusted or can it be a misuse amongst teens and young adults? Well I believe that it’s a good source of communication and that it can help during research project and things like that. I do strongly believe in that people should better the Internet and help protect some of the things we post or say. It's very interesting to see how people seem to just think that the Internet is a very safe place and that if you post something embarrassing you can erase it anytime you want. I know that it's a place with a lot of social networks and that just because your friend can see your stuff it’s just going stay like that.
I know that certainly some pages have a privacy policy but most people don’t even know about it and seem to ignore that. It’s a place where you can express yourself but you really have to watch what you say. I haven’t that misunderstanding but I know people that have they hate it and regret it after a while. It’s super easy to fall in that pattern and say what can go wrong if I post this up. If people were more careful they would be accepted in a lot of schools or they wouldn’t get kicked out of school.
For example on the article we a student was kicked of his school because he posted pictures of himself dressed as a woman. According to the campus they had a zero tolerance on stuff like that since it was a very religious school. They also said that they had a lot of complaints towards that student and because he wouldn’t follow school rules. They would describe has a one of the worst students in campus and a very disruptive one too. He says he regrets posting those things up since he couldn’t finish his school year and finish using his scholarship.
Living in a virtual world is way different than living in our sane world. A virtual world is basically made up of whatever u want it to be and the regular sane world doesn’t truly offer that much of an option. A virtual world is like an escape to a place where most people feel comfortable and feel like they can be anyone they want to be. I mean people feel like that in the real world but it’s more comfortable in a virtual place where people don’t know who you are and can pretend to be someone else. It’s cool to have a place where you can pretend to be someone you’re not, but it’s better to stay in reality and work on things so they can be like your virtual world.
Its fun and games at first but it can become very addicting too. It’s cool that some of your friends can talk to you while playing games or being in a virtual world. Social networks are the same thing only that you can’t pretend to be someone you’re not. That’s why most people pretend to be who their not. The ones who don’t well are missing in a lot but still being smart about other stuff.
