You shine so bright
As my sun
You guide me with your light
With whatever I run from
In many ways you make me happy
And you do so with a kiss
As well to not make me feel crappy
And I just want to say I LOVE YOU Chris!
I love it how u always understand
And I hope u believe me when I say my feelings for you are true
When I hug you, kiss you, hold your hand
I don’t ever want to let go of you
I don’t ever want to be without you, Never.
I just want to be with you forever.

Greek Mythology
Greek mythology is an interesting topic to learn about because of all the myths and stories it tells. This particular mythology has a lot of heroes and gods. They all tie up in many particular ways and also have cruel punishments if they disobey. Greek mythology set the standard for how people should act accordingly to the myths. It also had different ways to portray natural disasters and life changing situations. People learn a lot based on these stories and how they were supposed to be.
Well every Monday we learn about Greek mythology. It’s one of my favorite subjects to learn about interesting and because of all the creatures and gods. So far we’ve learned about The Odyssey, which is the story of Odysseus trying to get back to his wife after he has been away for a very long time and facing challenges and overcoming a lot of things that were in his way to his wife and kid. We have also learned about the Greek gods like Athena, Poseidon, Hera, Zeus, Apollo, Hermes and many more.
My favorite gods in Greek mythology are Athena, Poseidon and Hades. I like Athena a lot because of what she represented to the Greek people. She was the goddess of wisdom, war, weaving and many more things. She was represented by an owl which meant wisdom. She was a beautiful goddess besides Aphrodite and all the other goddess. She was said to have taught men kind how to hunt and how to do all the useful skills while she taught women how to weave and spin looms. She is the only daughter of Zeus that was born out of his forehead. She was a very wise god and many came to her for her wisdom. I also like hearing about how strong she was in battle and how she faced the people that didn’t like her. Medusa is one of the people that dared to challenge her and ending up being the way she is known now. She is my favorite monster in Greek mythology.
Poseidon is amongst my favorite gods because he is ruler of the water and for me that’s pretty amazing. He was also known for creating interesting creatures for his lovers even though he had a wife. He was also the god of horses because he wanted his sister Demeter and therefore he created the horse and had a son with her. People sacrificed horses for him so that when they went fishing everything turned alright and they had fish to eat. He is one of my favorite gods because he knows how to get along with the other gods after a fight or battle like in his battle with Athena for Athens.
Hades is one of my favorite gods but at the same time he can be one of my least favorite gods. I think he is cool and has complete control of the underworld. He was a very selfish god and did things the way he thought they should be done. He could create many horrorific creatures and manipulate the dead. What I dislike about him is that he stole Persephone from Demeter and made her his wife. He forced Demeter into having seasons in which crops grow and when they don’t. This was established when they found out that Demeter had eaten six pomegranate seeds while she was in the underworld and since then she is with her mom for six months and is with Hades her husband for six months as well.
The thing that I don’t like in Greek mythology is how the portray women. All the myths we read about portray women as house wife and always loyal while the husband could go cheat on her with as many women as he wants. Even though there are goddess they have to submit to the gods power because the gods have more authority then they do. The battle between Athena and Poseidon over Athens demonstrates that in many different ways. Athena won the battle because the people chose her and because she gave the people the olive tree. In return Poseidon got upset and tried to flood the city which proofs to us that no god was ever happy when a goddess got away with what she wanted. Athena only won the battle because the people had to choose who they wanted to name the city after otherwise Poseidon might have won. There are many stories in which women are portrayed as only an object that men have. The Odyssey is a another great example because Odysseus cheats on his wife with plenty of women and goddess while his wife is at home waiting for his return and had to stay faithful while suitors’ want to marry her.
We’ve also learned about many other myths, like the Prometheus myth in which he creates humans and then disobeys Zeus and get his Kidney eaten every day by a Griffith-vulture and it re-grows the kidney every night so that he can suffer for disobeying Zeus. We also learned that his brother married Pandora just so that Zeus would let him go but it didn’t work because he didn’t marry her when Zeus had asked. We also learned that Pandora was given many gifts by the gods and curiosity was one of them and that encouraged her to open the box that released all the bad things in the world. We also learned about Aphrodite’s marriage with Hephaestus. It was a marriage Zeus forced Aphrodite in since he felt bad for his son since he was the ugliest and crippled amongst all the other gods, he decided he would balance his ugliness with her beauty.
Mythology has different ways to portray everything. It can help us understand why people have certain beliefs or it can help us try to understand our past. They explain many different things and what was believed to have happened. Mythology is a very interesting subject because we can still relate to it. It can even help us with the economy and many other things. It’s also interesting because the people that told the stories made them seem real that everyone else believed they were. It might have been a good thing for everyone to believe the gods and myths were real just so that they could have hope that things were going to change and they might get what they want or so that things might have a different outcome for them. I believe they had different gods for everything so that they wouldn’t feel they were just pressuring one god into doing everything. It also seems as if they choose all those gods for a specific reason. Greek mythology is very particular because they have a reason for everything and explain almost anything. They don’t only have gods they also have monster, nymphs and many more other creatures.

Flat Stanley Letter
Dear Cola,
Today we had another great adventure with my version of Flat Stanley. I took him to school and we learned about different things. In my English class we learned about some gods of ancient Greece. We learned that they had many different gods for a lot of things. For example they have a god for the skies, also one for love and one for wisdom. It's pretty cool to learn about this type of things because it helps us understand what was believed in the past. Stanley and I also learned more Spanish and about Economics. Stanley helped me concentrate and keep focus on my Spanish class. Stanley even helped me in one of my projects for my Economics class. I'm glad you gave Ms. Enszer the idea of having us do this letter and take Stanley everywhere. My friends even like Stanley and they wanted one as well. When Stanley and I came home we read to my baby brother a story. We also played fun games with him like peek-a-boo; hide-and-go-seek and many more. I really hope you enjoy your Stanley and are doing pretty well.
Sincerely,
Angie
P.S: My brother also enjoys having Stanley around because he gets to play with him and also it's fun because he helps me with my projects and entertain my brother. My mom thinks he is fun as well

Condition of L.A
Well L.A has changed a lot throughout these past years. It’s not as I remember when I was a little girl. It has changed into good and bad things. It’s changed into bad because there has been a lot more of gangs now then when I was little and also it has changed to good as well because people have done a lot of stuff to do well and have worked hard. One of the things that have changed is the laying off of teachers. When I was little I don’t remember any of my teachers from elementary and middle school getting laid off. It doesn’t make any sense now to keep making schools when L.A.U.S.D keeps firing most teachers. It also doesn’t make any sense to keep saying they aren’t going to fire people but still do it or rename what they are doing.

Macbeth Essay
The supernatural plays an important role because they determined whether Macbeth was going to become a murder. They determine this because they told Macbeth was going to be the next leader after Duncan. They sort of lied to him because they wanted to see how far he went with what they had told him. He tried to accomplish everything he was told just to be the next leader.
After Duncan’s announcement that Malcolm, his son was next in line; Macbeth reacted with fury so he plotted Duncan’s death, he then knew after Duncan’s death his kids would flee and he would be the heir like the witches said. Another form of supernaturalism is the dagger that lead Macbeth to Duncan’s room the night he died. It’s a form of supernaturalism because it wasn’t a real dagger and it was leading Macbeth to his first murder. It is also a supernatural symbol because it shows how Macbeth had a disturbing image of Duncan’s death.
The witches are important because they feed Macbeth with prophecies that come true to a sense after Macbeth commits various murders. It’s interesting because Macbeth can’t sleep after his first murder but can sleep after sending murders to kill Banquo. It’s interesting because after he commits the first murder he feels very guilty but he thinks if someone does it for him he won’t feel as guilty for been involved. If we think about this it seems as if the witches want Macbeth to kill others so that they could become more demanding and in charge of Macbeth.
The way the play involves ghosts, witches and other supernatural beings and things, is important because it leads to Macbeth going crazy for power and his wife’s death. It makes Macbeth weak and vulnerable because he has no control of what’s happening any longer. He becomes weaker because his goes crazy and commits suicide it also leads to Macbeth hallucinating and feeling their isn’t much he could do since he isn’t only fighting the living but also the dead.
The story of Macbeth has had many different interpretations, as well as movies. The movie we watched in class doesn't relate to the one in the book. The movies supernatural characteristics are very different from the ones in the book. They are more graphic. The scene’s with the witches make us think about whether Macbeth cared of being "damned" for killing people. When we analyze the supernatural characters by themselves we see that they tell us how Macbeth reacts to certain things.
We see that Macbeth stop caring about what was going to happen morally. In many ways he is forgetting all the good things an caving into the bad. At some point this is bad because if we use the supernaturalism theme he is damning himself and not caring whether he makes it alive or dead.

Personification- Water Essay
Water
I am what falls down when it rains. I am also what helps keep you alive. Without me the planet would be nothing, there would be no food, no plants. The earth is made up mostly of me. Humans are also made up of me. People need to constantly drink me so they won't dehydrate. I help people get the right amount of me when they drink me. I help plants grow. I am the environment in which fishes and other sea creatures live. I can flood a country when a hurricane comes. There is a lot of mythology behind my name. Different places believe in different things about me. There are different mythological reasons on how I came to be and also different reasoning why the earth is mainly me.
If I get warm and the wind is strong enough I can become a very disastrous hurricane that can end many things. In Greece they say if Poseidon gets upset tidal waves and tsunamis happen. They associate me with Poseidon in Greece because they say he is my king. I have no true king because there are a lot of myths of my being. In Rome my kings’ name would be Neptune. I am known as different things with different rulers but in reality I have not shown who is right but would rather leave people wondering.

1500 Word Essay
The articles related to Don't Blame the Eater are sort of true. There in the middle because they target kids and the parents buy them what they want. If parents were to too be more careful on what they buy or how constantly they buy their kids fast food or toys related to fast food because maybe obesity wouldn't be such a problem amongst young kids. If parents were to decide that their kids are suppose to be real healthy and then they wouldn't be obsessed.
Big corporations target kids because parents allow them too and they also encourage them too. For example if parents were to say no more toys that make you think fast food, maybe then corporations would probably not target kids anymore. Big corporations wouldn't target kids and be wealthy if parents were to go to markets and buy vegetables and fruits to make their kids healthy. They also wouldn't aim for kids if parents would decide to give them fast food as a treat or reward instead of an option every once a month or maybe even too.
In the past years obesity has seemed to grow immensely between kids and teens because it seems as if parents don't seem to care of what their kids eat or put in their body. It also seems that they don’t seem to care that they eat more junk food than vegetables or anything home made that is good for the kids. In case where a mother was suing McDonalds she said “I feed my son McDonalds because I thought it was healthy for him.” What kind of an excuse is that?! It doesn’t make sense I you feed your child fast food daily you don’t truly love your kid and you’re neglecting that child from a nutritionist life.
A parent has the right to say no to their kid because they are the parents and because if they don’t stop their child their child is going to walk all over them without thinking about it. It doesn’t only apply to food to life as well because an unhealthy kid doesn’t have the same advantage as very healthy kid. An unhealthy kid isn’t going to be able to run or walk without breathing hard or isn’t going to be able to play without getting tired quickly. It’s not fair for a kid to go through all that because they are just kids and they get made fun of everyday just because they aren’t as healthy as other kids.
Most people don’t understand what being obese is. They see it as they are only fat and they don’t care about how they look.
Many parents don’t understand that if they love their kid they would want their kid to be healthy because they are showing how much they care about them. It’s real interesting to tell a parent that they don’t love their kids because they neglect them with giving them unhealthy food and by letting them eat fast food they are harming. There’s a quote that stands out to me from Don’t Blame the Eater “Shouldn’t we know better than to eat two meals a day in fast food restaurants?” If people were to analyze how long they spend or how much they spend on fast food restaurants they would be surprised. It’s crazy because it seems people are hypnotized by fast food that they don’t seem to notice how much time and money they spend on fast food restaurants.
I’m not a healthy person but I’m not obese either. My parents tell me and try not to buy fast food and it has been working because I’m getting use to not eating fast food that often. I mean it’s a great feeling because my family and I are overcoming obesity. We do eat it once in a while but it’s rare when we do. My parents are trying to become more informed about what foods are healthy and which are not. They don’t want my sister, brother and me to become obese or have any type of obese related sickness.
